Welcome to the 7th DUC Underwater Photographic Shootout
South Africa’s premier underwater photographic competition!
The committee of DUC Shootout invites underwater photographers of all skill levels to take part in this national DUC Underwater Photographic Shootout .
The theme of the competition is to provide a platform where underwater photographers can expose their favourite dive sites throughout Southern Africa.
From the East Coast to the West Coast, to deep wrecks, to shallow rock pools, Coelacanths, shark diving, whales, pristine coral reefs and their inhabitants and now the inland waters of Southern Africa – there is a plethora of underwater photographic opportunities available!
If you are a regular competitor in the DUC Underwater Photographic Shootout
please take note of the following changes to the format of the competition:
- The competition shooting area includes the inland waters of Southern Africa:Inland Waters is defined as: fresh water, rivers, dams but not aquariums and pools.
Southern Africa is defined as: Mozambique, West coast of SA and Namibia.
- A “PRO” section has been introduced – there are now 4 categories! (see rules
- The entry fees are tiered for each category:
- The Shooting period opened on the 1st of December 2016 and will close on the 31st of May 2017
