Welcome to the 8th DUC Shootout – South Africa’s premier underwater photographic competition!

The committee of DUC Shootout invites underwater photographers of all skill levels to take part in this national underwater photographic competition.
The theme of the competition is to provide a platform where underwater photographers can expose their favourite dive sites throughout Southern Africa.
From the East Coast to the West Coast, to deep wrecks, to shallow rock pools, Coelacanths, shark diving, whales, pristine coral reefs and their inhabitants and the inland waters of Southern Africa – there is a plethora of underwater photographic opportunities available!
DUC Shootout 2016

The organisers of the DUC Shootout strive to give the underwater photographers a fair, rewarding and economical means to compete and at the same time show case the immense beauty of both the coastal and inland waters of Southern Africa.

This is achieved by providing entrants with:
” Tiered entry fee based on category
” Four categories based on skill levels
” International judges that provide feedback
” Excellent prizes
” 5 months shooting period
” Option to capture images in the both the East, West and inland waters of Southern Africa

The Shooting period opened on the 1st of December 2017 and will close on the 31st of May 2018.

CATEGORIES/FEES
  PRO: ENTRY FEE R300
  Advanced: ENTRY FEE R200
  Intermediate: ENTRY FEE R150
  Novice: ENTRY FEE R100
SHOOTING PERIOD:
  BEGIN: 1st of December 2017
  END: 31st of May 2018
