The committee of DUC Shootout invites underwater photographers of all skill levels to take part in this national underwater photographic competition.
The theme of the competition is to provide a platform where underwater photographers can expose their favourite dive sites throughout Southern Africa.

The organisers of the DUC Shootout strive to give the underwater photographers a fair, rewarding and economical means to compete and at the same time show case the immense beauty of both the coastal and inland waters of Southern Africa.

This is achieved by providing entrants with:
• Tiered entry fee based on category
• Four categories based on skill levels
• International judges that provide feedback
• Excellent prizes
• 8 months shooting period
• Option to capture images in the both the East, West and inland waters of Southern Africa

The Shooting period opened on the 1st of December 2018 and will close on the 31st of July 2019.

An underwater video category has been added to the 2019 event. We are looking for high quality underwater videos ( you have 8 months to put this together!) Be sure to check out the rules on this section.

If you are a first time entrant to the competition – WELCOME!
Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the rules as well as definitions of the four categories which are set out in the tabs on the website.
